Home Heat

The LeBron X's dropped last fall, and has been one of the hottest pair of kicks out since. Over a dozen colorways have been officially released over the past few months and they have all sold tremendously around the world. However, the home colorway has been highly anticipated and sure to be one of the most popular colorways of the shoe to drop. LeBron James flirts with a triple double nearly every time he touches the court and things were no different when he laced up the home colorway of the LeBron X's for the first time last week. LeBron put up 31 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assists in a win over the Charlotte Bobcats. The crisp white flywire material complimented with red, black, and hints of orange make this shoe a must buy for anyone who is a serious fan of LeBron sneakers. The retail price is $180, so be sure to cop your pair before your local shoe retailer sells out, because these probably won't be in stores for long!

Bread for the Breds?!?

All 3 Bred Retro Jordans are arguably the hottest and most sought after Jordans to be released in the last few months. Originally released in 1989, the Bred 4's dropped again this past Black Friday. These 4's were seriously slept on but most definitely sold out within hours. Mostly composed of a smooth black suede and complimented by a cool gray sole, the Bred 4's were definitely one of the most popular shoes to be released in 2012. The Bred 4's have been seen on celebrities like Jennifer Lopez, Nas, and Jay-Z. The 4's were hot, but the biggest release of the year was most definitely the Bred Jordan Retro 11's. The Bred 11's dropped on December 21, 2012, but purchasing them was a little different this year compared to past years. For the past few years there have been numerous stories on the chaos that has occurred concerning these Jordan releases towards the end of the year. As a safety precaution, select stores used the lottery system to assure that things ran a lot smoother. In order to purchase the Bred 11's, you made an account with a local shoe retailer (Finish Line, Foot Locker, Champs, etc.), and you will then receive an email. Attached to this email is a Draft Lottery Form, which is where you give your contact information, shoe size, etc. By a particular date you will be notified on whether you won. If so, you are guaranteed your pair to purchase. Come release day you just come to the store by a certain time, show you email to confirm your lottery win, and your in there! This eliminated a lot of chaos and hassle for the shoe purchase. Every sneakerhead around the country was hyped up over the Bred 11's. This is only the 4th time that the shoe has been released since originally dropping in '96. This is not just any Jordan. MJ lead his team to a 72-10 record (the best NBA record of all-time) and a world championship in these sneakers. However this was not the only pair of Breds that Jordan got a ring in. MJ wore the Bred 13's in the playoffs when he won his championship in '98. The Bred 13's dropped on January 12, 2013, starting the year off with some serious heat! This was the first pair of 13's to be released since the "Playoffs" dropped in 2011, so you could only imagine the hype over these sneakers. These shoes all dropped back to back, so if you didn't get any of this heat for your feet, then your shoe game is seriously flawed. Also, if you are looking for any of these kicks because you didn't get them when they dropped, then good luck bidding on eBay because that's probably your best bet!

Welcome to My Blog!

To all of my fellow sneakerheads, bloggers, and readers,

My name is Joshua Harris, I'm currently a 19 year old sophomore at Wake Forest University, and working towards a double major in English and Communications. First of all, my passion for sneakers, the culture, and the history behind it all is indescribable. Growing up my mom always spoiled my brother and me, so she always made sure that we were fresh from head to toe. My love and appreciation for sneakers probably began around age 13 when I had to start purchasing sneakers using my own money. (They say that’s when you really begin to value things). I remember the very first pair of Retro Jordans that I bought on my own, the Black Jordan Retro XX2’s that released in April of 2007 (seen in the picture below). These shoes were my heart and I still have them to this day. Since then, my shoe collection has grown, my shoe knowledge has increased, and the fire in my heart for sneakers has been burning more intensely than ever before.
